Mission Fire Fighters: Filling The Boot For Muscular Dystrophy

Coming November 2023: Your local Mission Fire Fighters will hit the streets, continuing a 67-year tradition of fighting not just fires, but also muscular dystrophy.

A Tradition of Compassion

Members of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) have long been warriors against muscular dystrophy, a disease grouping of over 40 neuromuscular disorders affecting both children and adults. The Mission Fire Fighters Association is deeply committed to this cause, supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) through the Fill The Boot campaign.

Pandemic Challenges

The COVID-19 pandemic has not spared charitable activities. It has significantly affected the Mission Fire Fighters Association’s efforts to Fill the Boot for MDA.

November 2023: A Call for Action

This November, Mission Fire Fighters will safely accept in-person donations on street corners, upholding a beloved community tradition while adhering to COVID-19 protocols. They will simultaneously promote the virtual Fill The Boot campaign. Your support is vital.

How to Contribute

  • Spread the Word: Share the campaign on social media with the hashtag #FillTheBoot.
  • In-person Donations: In November, if it’s safe for you, consider making a donation to the fire fighters you see on the streets.

Conclusion

Mission Fire Fighters are more than crisis responders; they are pillars of community spirit. By supporting the Fill The Boot drive, they—and you—can help fight muscular dystrophy and transform lives during these challenging times.

Together, we can fill the boot and ignite hope for those combating muscular dystrophy.
